I am quickly coming to the end of my time in my Mexican studio, so I am constantly challenging myself to do different and more difficult poses. The foreshortening of this animal turned to look back, was the challenge.
The problem for me now is I only have small paper! I think I want to do a mural :)
Funny paper size use to be so intimidating!

You did a good job at this difficult pose. The one thing that really stands out as a bit awkward is the left rear leg. It bends at the knee in an unnatural way that doesn't work to well from a viewers perspective. The leg is bent at a funny angle. Sometimes you have to take artistic license and straighten things out just to make them translate better for the viewer. Send me the image so that I can see why you translated it that way.
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean. Unfortunately, the image is at home, I had printed off a copy to bring with me.I think I will go back and work this area. It probably is too thin which would accentuate the angle.
ReplyDeleteRe worked what do you think Ted...better?
