Another of the animals that we saw in August, this seemed to be very difficult animal for me to draw.
30x54 cm long and narrow [taking the size of the animal] unframed for sale. US$125
My art is influenced by Nancy Slaght - a renowned pastel artist from British Columbia with whom I studied with. I have fallen under the spell of chalk pastels, using this medium with my hands as brushes. I enjoy the opportunity to blend the colors to make my paintings realistic. I particularly enjoy painting animals, especially pets. My goal is to capture the essence of the pet. I am willing to paint pets on consignment from photographs.
I like this one!
ReplyDeleteAlthough you may have struggled on this one, the results are very good. I agree with Christine, 'I like this one' too! You didn't just draw a giraffe, you drew a particular giraffe that has it's own unique characteristics.
ReplyDeleteThanks, both of you. I certainly struggled with this and wasn't going to post this picture at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted this one. It has character and tells a story! Don't be too hard on yourself, this is just fun and enjoyable. Thanks for sharing it. Well worth the struggle.
