My art is influenced by Nancy Slaght - a renowned pastel artist from British Columbia with whom I studied with. I have fallen under the spell of chalk pastels, using this medium with my hands as brushes. I enjoy the opportunity to blend the colors to make my paintings realistic. I particularly enjoy painting animals, especially pets. My goal is to capture the essence of the pet. I am willing to paint pets on consignment from photographs.
You did a great job in creating a textural quality to this pastel. It looks like you could actually feel the horse if you touched the surface of the paper.
ReplyDeleteThanks..this was a difficult piece because I used 'new to me paper'. The pastels did not blend in the normal way for me. However I was pleased with the result because of the texture.
